Titanium Certified Expert (TCE) Trainer

Titanium Certified Experts (TCE) have achieved Appcelerator’s highest level certification designed for those who have previously achieved TCAD and wish to provide services to other Titanium Developers in the community such as Trainers, Support Engineers, and Professional Service Engineers. Appcelerator recognizes these certified experts individuals and offers unique benefits to each expert type:

TCE Trainers receive all TCAD benefits as well as:

  • Designation as a TCE Trainer in Appcelerator’s DevLink Directory
  • Early Access to Appcelerator’s Titanium Certified training curriculum
  • Ability to administer certification exams to their students
  • TCE logo usage

Titanium Certified Expert (TCE) Trainers are the only people authorized to present Appcelerator courseware designated by Appcelerator Training. They must ensure that they only present courseware approved by Appcelerator Training and provide an opportunity for each student to certify.

How to Become a TCE Trainer

  1. Attend any classroom based delivery of the Appcelerator certification course
  2. Pass the associated in-class certification exam (~60-90 minutes)
  3. Study all related course material, hands-on lab exercises, and documentation
  4. Pass the full version of the associated certification exam (~3 hours) at least 4 weeks prior to the following step
  5. Successfully co-teach at least 50% of the same Appcelerator certification class with a Master TCE Trainer designated by Appcelerator

TCE Trainer Level 1

Specific process to deliver Building Native Mobile Apps with Titanium

  1. Attend a classroom based Building Native Mobile Apps with Titanium delivered by any TCE Trainer
  2. Pass the in-class Titanium Certified App Developer (TCAD) exam
  3. Study all course materials and hands-on exercises
  4. Pass the full TCAD exam at least 4 weeks prior to the following step
  5. Successfully co-teach at least 50% of the Building Native Mobile Apps with Titanium class with a Master TCE Trainer designated by Appcelerator.

TCE Trainer Level 2

Specific process to deliver Advanced Titanium Mobile Development and Titanium Mobile Development

Pre-requisite: Achieve TCE Trainer level 1

  1. Attend any classroom based Titanium Mobile Development (or Advanced Titanium Mobile Development separately)
  2. Pass the in-class Titanium Certified Mobile Developer (TCMD) exam
  3. Study all course materials and hands-on exercises
  4. Pass the full TCMD exam
  5. Successfully co-teach at least 50% of the Advanced Titanium Mobile Development class with a Master TCE Trainer designated by Appcelerator.

Official TCE Trainer designation is achieved through a combination of feedback from the Master Trainer who is co-teaching in addition to students attending the class.  Official TCE Trainer status will only be confirmed by Appcelerator Training.

At the conclusion of each class, every TCE Trainer must ensure all students:

  1. First submit online Class Feedback form at http://feedback.appcelerator.com
  2. Then are provided access to their first attempt taking the appropriate certification exam for their class by entering the Proctor Credentials

TCE Trainers must be responsible to:

  • Notify Appcelerator Training (training@appcelerator.com) immediately if there were any concerns raised by students during the class delivery
  • Stay current by following any recertification procedure required to offer the latest courseware
